Wendy Zhang is an illustrator and digital artist from Oakville, Ontario. Wendy specializes in editorial art, wool felting art, hand-drawn animation and digital art.
Wendy’s work features whimsical colour and composition. Though she uses bold colours, most of her topics explore the soft and gentle aspects of life, such as love and nature. She hopes her work touches the delicate emotions in people’s hearts.
Sanctuary of the Stars
An art and conservation project dedicated to protecting endangered animals. The earth is home to all life and the most precious refuge in the universe. Every endangered species is like a star in the night sky, and its light is worthy of our joint protection.
My Love is Like a Sinking Ship
Inspired by the lyrics of Linda Ronstadt’s 1974 song “Heart Like a Wheel.” This work tells the story of a person trapped by love.
The lyric, “But my love for you is like a sinking ship,” implies that the protagonist is deeply immersed in love. It also describes the excessive sinking cost of investing in love, which ultimately leads to being trapped in the relationship.

Wrath and Pride
Wine label packaging design that visualizes two emotions. Set to music, the animated video brings these bold colours to life and attracts potential buyers.
Changing Space
The four stages of a young person’s life explore changes in growth, independence and intimate relationships. A person’s room can truly reflect their age, lifestyle and spirit.
Echo from the Other Side
A romantic story about soulmates, with a hint of sadness. The universe is like a big hand that holds souls over us. In one moment, you look at each other, you know each other, and you want to love each other. The souls resonate. The next second, they disappear, pulled away from you by the hands of the universe. You feel as if they never existed.
