Sheryl Yee

I am a Toronto-based narrative illustrator who specializes in children’s books. I create whimsical, textured illustrations, all in the hopes of putting a smile on people’s faces!

Inspired by the simplicity of everyday moments, childhood nostalgia, and the natural world, I blend traditional and digital mediums to infuse my illustrations with a tactile and heartwarming charm.

Jim, not Jam.

An intergalactic story about Maggie and Jam, who were best friends. There was nothing in the whole, wide galaxy that could tear them apart! Well, at least that’s what Maggie thought until one day, Jam said he had to move somewhere far, far away.

Will there be any room left in Maggie’s heart for another friend, or is there only space for one? Find out in this whimsical tale all about comparison and compassion.

Woodland Birthday Bundle

Following the story of a mischievous fox trying to join in on the fun, this is a collection of traditionally illustrated cards, envelopes, bags, stickers and wrapping perfect for a child’s birthday party.

My illustrations interact with the physical surfaces of the products, resulting in a fun and interactive birthday bundle where the characters come to life on every inch of the packaging.

Have You Eaten Yet?

A narrative cookbook that blends poetry and recipes to express the idea of food as a love language.

“Sik Jo Fan Mei Ah?” meaning, “Have you eaten yet?” is a Cantonese phrase synonymous with the question, “How are you?” This book drew inspiration from the idea that food not only fills our stomachs but also fills our souls by giving us an excuse to come together and care for others.
