Meaghan Beaton
Hi, my name is Meaghan Beaton—you can call me Meg Wild. I’m currently working as a Toronto-based illustrator and educational assistant. My work aligns with modern indie styles, sometimes with a narrative influence and whimsical feel. I use a combination of traditional drawing methods and digital techniques. My work is versatile and can be applied to anything from packaging to album covers.
Wicked Women
A cider-inspired product design based on “Unsung Canadian Heroes.” These are portraits of modern-day Canadian women who each contribute something beneficial to Canadian Society, from entrepreneurship, activism, design, or healthcare advancements. Including (from left to right) Dr. Alaa Murabit, Sage Paul, Rachel Zellars, and Maayan Ziv. For more information on each hero…check out my website or the QR code on the label!
The Prophet
A modernized interpretation of Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet, a book serving as a series of essays and a spiritual guide. These excerpts and illustrations work together to encourage the search for meaning in everyday life. Reflecting the powerful symbolism and themes within this classic book.
Comic
A short personal comic on an experience from grade school that touches on the proverb, “Out of sight, out of mind.” Students often got detention for taking too long to change out of their winter gear. Apparently, hiding in lockers didn’t do the trick.
Inspirations
Traditionally made portraits of inspirational influences, Oliver Sacks and Kalpana Chawla. Where neuroscience meets aerospace engineering and astronomy.
