Kirstie Lunde
Kirstie is a Canadian digital illustrator living in the Greater Toronto Area, whose art style has been described as ‘haunting surrealism’ with a blend of traditional grit and digital crunch. Not being one to shy away from the macabre has led her to creating images that can be downright nightmarish while depicting themes of inner darkness and mystery. Using art as an emotional outlet, she likes to explore themes of subconscious fears and yearnings. She is a strong love for idioms and poetry.

‘A Lot’s Gonna Change
Digital. The inevitable pain that comes from facing the light of necessary hardships of growth and change while trying to hold onto the innocence of the past by remaining in the dark. We yearn to know more but fear the unknown cost.![](https://sheridanillustration.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/2020_Lunde_Kirstie_Image4-Kirstie.jpg)
When The Party’s Over
Pencil and Digital. The low after the high is sometimes worse than the fear of missing out.![](https://sheridanillustration.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/2020_Lunde_Kirstie_Image5-Kirstie.jpg)
Loves me, Loves me not
Digital. A game of seeking the affections in relationship that already faces hardships and may be doomed to fail from the start.![](https://sheridanillustration.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/2020_Lunde_Kirstie_Image6-Kirstie.jpg)
Eternal Flame
Digital. There is light in the darkness, and a darkness in the light.![](https://sheridanillustration.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/2020_Lunde_Kirstie_Image2-Kirstie.jpg)
A Bite at the Cherry
Digital. Inspired by the idiom of the same wording. A visualizing of intrusive thoughts surrounding death. “Everywhere I look I see opportunities, and death sees me.”![](https://sheridanillustration.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/2020_Lunde_Kirstie_Image3-Kirstie.jpg)
Seeds of Thought
Digital. Inspired by the poem Seeds and Thoughts written by Amos Russel Wells. Our minds are like gardens; we must be careful of what seeds we plant; nurture the sprouts; let things grow and take shape.
