Kieran Leeson
Kieran is an Edmonton-based author and illustrator who specializes in narrative illustration and comics. Their work features all things creepy, crawly and strange, utilizing bold colours and striking linework to create captivating stories. Their work is inspired by horror movies, American comics and their yearly trip to Spirit Halloween.
When they aren’t drawing, Kieran likes to spend their time playing video games, cooking new recipes with their friends and watching scary movies.
Nematomorpha Concept Book
A concept art package for an original horror story, “Nematomorpha.” The story follows a group of friends searching for answers after a series of disappearances upsets their quiet hometown. When one member of the group, Damon, begins to behave strangely, it is up to his sister, Lisa, and his friends, Sheldon and Eric, to discover what is really happening to the residents of their town before it’s too late.
People and Places Never Seen
Based on a short written prompt, this series aims to tell the story of a location through a unique lens. It is meant to evoke the feeling of driving through an area where you feel unwelcome, experiencing your surroundings only through brief glimpses in the car’s mirrors.
Wandering Postcard Series
Wandering tells a story about yearning for a home you know you can’t return to. Based on real-life walks around Kieran’s neighbourhood, the series aims to capture the feeling of being alone and missing a home that no longer exists, even in a place that is full of life.
Tongue
Tongue is a short horror comic about a young man and his struggle against a very unwelcome intruder.
Everything is Fine
A short six-panel comic about the state of the world and the anxiety that accompanies it.
