Jessica Lui

I’m a designer and illustrator who believes great illustration comes from the perfect balance of clarity and creativity. With a strong background in both professional experience and academic training, I love turning complex ideas—like the engineering behind automotive vehicles—into visually engaging designs. Using my technical illustration skills, I create graphics and videos that inform and inspire.

Whether it’s branding, UI design, concept art, books, posters, editorial work, or motion graphics, I’m passionate about using art to communicate, educate, and create connections that leave a lasting impact.

LEGACY: Top 15 Sports Cars

Samples of a fifty-page coffee table book that celebrates the most influential sports cars of the modern era. Instead of traditional photography, it brings these icons to life through expressive sketches and paintings, offering a fresh artistic perspective. Blending branding, typography, graphic design, editorial layout, and technical illustration, this book presents automotive history in a visually striking and engaging way.

OTTOmotive

A luxury concept car company that focuses on blending art with engineering. Wrapped in an air of mystery, the OTTOmotive is elusive and unattainable—much like its octopus mascot. Its signature feature is an evolving paint system. Beneath its factory-set sleek black exterior, everyday wear reveals hidden paint colours. This brand encompasses comprehensive branding, UI design, concept development, and 3D modelling, redefining how cars age with beauty.

Le Mans 2023

An infographic poster that captures the essence of the legendary Le Mans 24-hour race, the world’s oldest active endurance sports car competition. The 2023 race was historic, marking Ferrari’s first overall victory since 1965 and its tenth overall win. This poster celebrates the achievement, highlighting the top five finishers and key race details. Through a dynamic blend of typography, hierarchy, and visual storytelling, it presents essential information, including the race location, start time, date, and driver lineups for each podium-finishing car. Designed for clarity and impact, the layout guides viewers through the race’s most pivotal moments.

Bring Back Beauty

A motion graphic that challenges the monotony of modern car design with a bold statement—“Bring Back Beauty.” At its center, a vibrant red Ferrari F40 stands in stark contrast to the dull, uniform grey of today’s everyday vehicles, highlighting the loss of individuality and artistry in contemporary automotive design. Originally a still advocacy poster, the message was later brought to life through a motion graphic, using dynamic visuals and sound to reinforce the call for a return to bold, expressive, and timeless design.

The Gospels

A series of four wraparound book covers designed for the four Gospels of the Bible: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The covers bring a modern aesthetic to these historic and influential texts. Through contemporary composition, typography, and editorial layout, the designs make the Gospels more appealing to a modern audience while preserving their original message and impact.
