Hannah Bakalar
Hannah Bakalar is a splash/character illustrator and 3D modeller specializing in fantasy and action. She is passionate about evoking powerful emotion through her character work, bringing it to life with vivid colour and light. Inspired by otherworldly storytelling, she strives to create immersive worlds and hopes to continue growing her practice in the game and illustration industries. Growing up, she was deeply inspired by the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, which led to an interest in combat- and adventure-based titles. Her hobbies outside of art include guitar and singing, reading, and aquascaping. In the future, she hopes to keep developing her own IP, Crystals, an action/fantasy illustrated novel, as well as continue creating custom 3D figurines and character designs.
Crystals Narrative Book Illustrations and Character Cards
A set of four chapter illustrations that will be paired in the future with content from the novel Crystals. Two moments of peace and two moments of turmoil were the chosen subject matter. Character cards were a necessary addition to this project, giving the viewer further insight into the lives and personalities of the people in the illustrations.
Yari of the Ashplain 3D Modelled/Printed Figurine
A standalone project that uses resin 3D printing to world-build directly from the creation of a character and his environment. The entire figurine was sculpted digitally by hand with a combination of ZBrush and Blender, and then hand-painted to the smallest detail.

Figurine Packaging Design
Paired with the previous, this project is a hypothetical packaging design for the Yari figurine, including an illustration of the character, informational details, and environment design. The packaging not only protects the product but also enhances its narrative and visual impact, making it feel like an extension of the character.
