Emma is a 23-year-old artist raised in Whitby, Ontario, who specializes in narrative art with a great love for comics. Growing up with an older brother who loved superheroes, Emma was introduced to comics early in life. Storytelling became a big aspect of her life, whether it was Team-Up Marvel comics, campfire stories or being forced to watch slasher films as an arguably too-young child. Story-telling is the driving force of Emma’s work.

The Valiant

After WWII, a man on death row with an obvious fake name becomes very popular in the papers. Is he a long-lost son, brother or father from the war? Everyone wants to know.

This forty-five-page comic is an adaptation of the 1945 radio play by Robert Middlemass, a personal favourite of my grandfather, Jack Mcfadyen.

Sappho: Holding Together

Sappho is an ancient Greek lyrical poet from the isle of Lesbos. Her works and name inspired the words ‘Sapphic’ and ‘lesbian.’ All her works were stored in the Library of Alexandria, which, after it burned, only left behind fragments of her pieces. This special edition album emulates the story of her rumoured death and showcases some of her works that survived.
