Darya is an illustrator who was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan and lives in the Hamilton area. She enjoys learning the legends and fairytales from around the world, her bookshelf continuing to grow. She also cares about supporting environmental causes and local wildlife, and believes that with everyone working together, the global crisis can be turned around.

was declared Endangered by the provincial Endangered Species Act in 2013, due to factors like habitat loss – which is tied to deforestation, both in Canada and South America. The goal is to halt the national decline by 2025.
