Daniela Casas
Daniela Casas is a Colombian-Canadian Illustrator/designer based in Whitby, Ontario. She currently holds a position with the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, in the development department. She is also an art instructor for children and adults and finds it joyful to contribute to her community through volunteering.
Daniela graduated from the Sheridan Bachelor of Illustration in 2019. Then, went on to illustrate for Rehab Ink online magazine, including an award-winning article for the University of Toronto. She has worked on children’s books and was the illustrator and formatter of a best-seller poetry book. She also recently was awarded her M.A. – Master’s in Arts Leadership from Queen’s University.
Her work speaks to the connection humans have with nature. She expresses a story of self-love and mental health awareness in each of her images. Daniela seeks to express the sentiment of fighting the harshness of society while searching for meaning in them.201
