Cally Leung
Cally Leung (aka BubblyErnie) is an illustrator, cartoonist, and aspiring colourist who specializes in print and sequential art. Her work is a love letter to cinematic compositions, graphic tones, and storytelling through characters and costumes. Her posture is a hate letter to her dedication to the craft. When not drawing, Cally can be found reading novels featuring sad, brooding detectives or playing one in a tabletop game.
Passive Perception
What happens when you blend a murder mystery, a love of comics and a fantasy ensemble? A 120-page graphic novel, of course! Passive Perception explores perspective and unreliable narration through experimental panelling and characters, with each chapter focusing on a different person’s account of a nobleman’s evening gala. It invites the reader to follow along as the cast tries to figure out whodunnit!

Lemonade—Coffin House
An editorial piece highlighting the housing crisis for those in Hong Kong. This piece plays on the themes of claustrophobia and isolation while depicting the real phenomenon of one-person cages, known as coffin houses, as a housing solution.

A Sound of Thunder
A book cover based on the science fiction story by Ray Bradbury. The short narrative follows Eckels, who travels through time on a “time safari,” creating irreparable damage to the current day through a minor event in the past—stepping on a butterfly.

Wretch
A sandbox of Greek mythology and modern Westerns, Wretch is a twenty-four-page comic pitch focusing on bold colours and high action. It follows a Greek fury imagined as a cowboy bounty hunter and an impulsive encounter with his hire, complete with variant covers and supplementary pages.

Wretch (The Animation)
A pitch bible created for an animated adaptation of the comic pitch Wretch—this explores the elements necessary for a creative director or production team, such as brand, colour keys, promotional material, character and setting design, style guides, and finally, a minute-long storyboarded intro sequence. Inspired by action-based adult animation and live-action storyboarding, this pitch bible heightens the themes and characters introduced in the original comic.
