Sirini Samarasinghe
Sirini is a Sri Lankan-Canadian illustrator and toy designer who strives to create smiles through whimsy and clever design. Inspired by her love of dolls, humour, nostalgia and overthinking, her work features vibrant characters, immersive worlds, and research-driven design choices. She specializes in character and toy concepts.
She loves bringing fun ideas to life and creating work that delights all audiences. Outside of her practice, she enjoys collecting and repainting dolls and spending time with her loved ones.
Monster Mode
A fangtasticly playful monster-themed magazine inspired by popular teen publications of the early 2000s. This project blends humour, storytelling, and design to explore identity, beauty and self-care through a whimsical lens.
Flavourz
A vibrant doll concept inspired by the experiences of second-generation immigrants, this project celebrates individuality. Each character represents a different cultural background. Through fashion, colour, and personality, each doll reflects a mix of heritage and contemporary identity.
The Big Event
A visual identity project centred around a punk-rock band. Inspired by the energy of love performances, this project consists of character designs, key art, and merchandise. Using bold styling, fun characters, and cohesive branding, this project creates a distinct brand identity for the fictional band, “The Procrastinators.”
