Adriana Laria Aleaga
Hey there! My name is Adriana, though some people know me as Bonk. I was born in Cuba, immigrated to Canada at a very young age, and developed a passion for the visual arts. I’m influenced by the environments in which I grew up, viewing the world in bright, vibrant colours which fill my illustrations.
I have always loved playing video games, especially competitive, dress-up/customization and puzzle games. I hope to join some amazing teams in the future to create engaging and story-driven video games, or even develop my own game!
SonZon
Inspired by a trip back home to Cuba in the winter of 2025, I learned more about the music genre called Son, which accompanies our national dance, Danzón. The song played in the video, “Son de la Loma” by Trio Matamoros, was introduced to me by a live band. The song reminded me of the many beautiful cars and taxis that roam the streets of Cuba day and night, from the classic Coco Taxis to the colourful vintage cars to the older, beat-up Volkswagen Beetles. This project showcases the vibrant culture Cubans have to offer through the concept of a go-kart game.
The Twenty-One Balloons Room Puzzle
Based on the novel The Twenty-One Balloons, by William Pène Du Bois, this project showcases three distinct locations, each with unique and intriguing furniture that helps unravel this story. Follow Professor Sherman’s hot air balloon adventure by unpacking and placing all the items in their respective spot and help him escape the island of Krakatoa!
Imagia Magical Girl FPS
Tired of playing first-person shooter games that are visually targeted to male players with military aesthetics, and to only have the cute skins blocked by a paywall? Look no further! Presenting Imagia, a vibrant and dazzling first-person shooter game based on magical girls protecting their magical energy from being stolen. Each playable character has their own specialized kits, based on their powers, to help their team win rounds in each map location.
