Rachel Peters is a narrative illustrator who loves to create original comics, storybooks, and game art. She draws inspiration from low fantasy, historical settings, and the human mind. Her love of melancholic stories surfaces in subtle ways throughout her work.

Although her art is primarily digital, it often takes on a detail-heavy, sketchy, and textured look.

When she is not coming up with sad stories, you can find her playing video games, hanging out with friends, or watching sad movies.

With All the Love in the World

An original comic about a child cursed with immortality, told from her twin sister’s point of view. The story follows a young girl, Seren, who flees her home to escape the reality of her condition, only to later confront the loss of her family. After discovering a letter from her sister, Seren is forced to reckon with the impact of her absence and the consequences of her actions.

Paramnesiac

A series of game assets and motion trailer for a 2D narrative point-and-click style adventure game. The game follows a 29-year-old woman named Edith who, after an accident a few years prior, lives with severe memory confabulation and hallucinations unless kept in check with medication.

After a mysterious dropped phone call and the unusual absence of her husband and caretaker, Edith finds herself running out of medication. Without it, the hallucinations and memory distortion worsen, physically changing her surroundings. Soon, Edith realizes just how much both her husband and her condition have cut her off from the outside world.

The Tale of the Rat King

An original illustrated fable that tells the story of how the first rat king came to be. The storybook explores how power, corruption, and witchcraft led to the downfall of a small medieval village.

The Forest

A series of illustrations and posters inspired by the forest. These works explore death as a natural part of the life cycle, illustrating how it makes way for new growth and renewal.
