Gothic Horror Posters
A series of illustrated posters for classic Gothic horror stories. The illustrations are inspired by theatre posters and book covers, with detailed watercolour illustrations and digital elements. This project reflects Lindsay’s love for the Gothic genre, its complex characters, and moody settings. One of her favourite parts of reading is visualizing the story as it unfolds. In these illustrations, she used character and setting descriptions, as well as symbolism, to create engaging compositions that captured the mood of each story without giving too much away.
Sanguine
Sanguine is an illustrated Gothic horror short story following an established and well-respected painter who accepts the patronage of a wealthy Baron. The painter is given a special pigment with which to create his masterpiece, but as he works, the pigment begins to torment him. Over time, the painting grows increasingly horrific and otherworldly, eventually gaining sentience and crossing into reality.
