Even Venator

Even is a narrative illustrator and poster designer with a passion for creating worlds that are fantastical and deeply emotional. They focus on the genres of sci-fi and horror, as well as children’s books and comforting imagery. Their work spans a wide spectrum, from intricate digital illustrations to large-scale oil paintings that experiment with texture, light, and mixed media to create pieces that resonate with people. Through every piece, whether exploring the unknown or offering warmth and safety, they aim to bring people together, ignite imaginations, and inspire emotional conversations.

Little Miss Wonder

This thirty-eight-page wordless graphic novel follows the story of a young girl as she goes on a journey to discover who she is and where she truly belongs in the world. Inspired by Even’s experiences growing up and discovering their identity. The character originates from stories Even would create as an eight-year-old about their little journeys, imagined as great adventures. This book is a personal reflection of Even’s search for belonging through fun and colourful visuals that will relate to almost anyone.

3D Model Bookends

For the innovative media portion of “Little Miss Wonder” project, Even created digitally sculpted 3D-modeled book ends that represent the two main locations of the book.

100 Years of Horror

From the 1920s to the 2020s, Even has reimagined the posters of their five favourite horror films through the decades as 2×3’ oil paintings focusing on capturing the likeness of the iconic main figures, blending timeless cinematic elements with their own artistic interpretation.

I Love You to The Stars

This children’s book gently introduces children ages four to seven to the concept of death and its permanence through the metaphor of dying stars. I Love You to the Stars supports children who may soon experience their first loss and comforts those who have already experienced it. Even hopes this book can make a big scary thing a bit less scary, like the books their mom read them as a child.

Sub-Genres of Space

Five posters for a project titled “Space” in which Even created promotional posters for imagined films that each represent a distinct sub-genre within sci-fi. They explored popular poster motifs and styles to represent the increasingly diverse and expansive possibilities of science fiction in space.
