Alia Al-Khalili is a multidisciplinary Iraqi-Canadian illustrator who makes bold visuals inspired by old-school cartoons and rock music. Alia’s illustrations reflect her edgy and playful personality and serve clients by delivering ideas through evocative visuals.
Alia enjoys hiking, rewatching 90s movies, browsing antique stores, and reading anthropology and zoology books at local libraries.
Iraq Travel Postcards
Seven travel postcards inspired by Alia’s first trip to Iraq for a family visit in 2023. The postcards express Iraq’s (Ancient Mesopotamia) rich and diverse culture and challenge negative stereotypes and tragedies associated with Iraq by the media. The graphite borders are inspired by the cultural symbolism of each landmark.
